Tough game but Stags endure to secure bonus point win

Shetland make it hard for Stags, but Ciaran Docherty hat-trick helps secure win
Firstly, thanks to Logan Sinclair and the boys from Orkney who stepped in to help Shetland out and make sure we had a game.
Ref Gavin MacDonald had barely got the game underway when Ciaran Docherty raced through the defence to score an easy try under the posts for John Mann to convert. 7-0 after a couple of minutes had us thinking this could be a 50 pointer.
Fair play to Shetland though, they turned it around with a converted try and penalty to go into half time 10-7 up. The first half was tough going, with both sides really getting stuck in, and it could have been easier if we hadn't butchered a couple of good scoring opportunities.
Into the second half Chris Watt scored for the second game in succession, followed by a rare score for JJ. Ciaran made sure of the try bonus with his second, before putting the result beyond doubt with his hat trick.
For all we scored 4 tries in the second half it wasn't one way traffic and Shetland made it a tough contest. Let's see how we get on this weekend when we make the trip to them.
