We apologise for the slow comms around our project - our small band of committed volunteers are working hard on a number of things right now and haven't had a proper opportunity to get information out to everyone.
This is a massive project for our club and wider community, and will set a strong foundation as we head towards our centenary year. No-one can deny our current facilities are tired and no longer fit for purpose, and what we will deliver will make an enormous difference to all our players and members, and those from visiting clubs as well.
Firstly, the photo alongside this article is a 3D rendition of what our clubhouse should/could look like once it is complete. If you'd like to have a look at the plans in more detail they are on our website HERE
Secondly, our project was advertised last week via the Public Contracts Scotland website. We hope to be able to award the contract at the end of this month/early May with a view to starting the project in June subject to agreement with our preferred bidder.
Once the building work starts we will no longer have use of the current facilities - but will still be able to use the pitches. Realistically this could continue until the end of the year and we are making plans for how we can continue to train and play throughout the duration of the project.
Our President John Scott met with our neighbours at Invergordon Social and Recreational Club and we are in discussion with them for parking and use of the facilities to cater for matches etc. We will also be looking to work with HLH to use the changing facilities at the leisure centre. Just because we won't have our clubhouse doesn't mean we can't still play rugby!!
