We are looking to recruit more referees to help manage our fixtures for this, and future seasons.
We have a huge number of fixtures this season, especially for youth teams, and we really need your help to officiate our games. We have a number of qualified referees at our club but we need more.
Passing a Level one refereeing course qualifies you to referee school and club rugby matches – as well as joining your local referee society.
Not only that, becoming a match official makes you a valued club volunteer and it would be a massive boost for our club and all our players. There is no game without the ref after all.
This is great way to become active within our Club and give something back to the game.
Courses are FREE to attend and if we can generate enough interest we can get a course at our club (there are no courses scheduled in our area at the minute).
The Level 1 course is 6 hours in total and is mainly practical with a short introduction indoors and a course exam to finish. The course is free to everyone who attends. All attendees will receive a Law Book and links to Age Grade Law Variations. You will need to bring a whistle and appropriate outdoor kit for the practical sessions.
After you've completed the course and passed the exam you are able to referee up to and including Regional League 2, Schools, and youth rugby.
You must complete the World Rugby Rugby Ready online assessment before attending a Level one course.
